How to teach your dog to eat on command PT2

One great mistake we make with training is we don't have a plan . in dog training we have the teaching phase , the correction phase , and the testing (proofing) phase . Mostly we don't get beyond the teaching phase . a dog proficient In eat on command should also be taught to stop eating on command . you achieve this by saying stop and putting the dog back in sit position and gently holding him down there . Say eat again and leave the dog to continue eating ; this is correction stage . Proofing stage is taking this same dog that has been proficient in eat and stop out of your compound on the main street with controlled level of distraction (leash on) and telling it to eat on command ; you will be surprise that most dog won't be able to relate what have been taught yo a new  environment so you will have to reteach that dog in that new environment , overtime you change to new environment with increasing level of distraction and reteach until he knows eat command must be obeyed around everywhere. .....

 Watch out for teaching your dog not to eat food from strangers and on the floor .
